I worked up a little sample to practise the stitch - would be useful as a coaster, hit pad, coffee mug cosy too. Or a nice cushion.

Working a big blanket would be quite a slog with all the sc.

It is easy but a bit boring but seeing the colours come together is nice. The chains row is me muttering one two three etc so Mr P is not impressed with this as a telly project, but he will have to get used to it. This will be my background project if I am to stand a chance of an opadoo

My colour striping scheme is MC then pairs of colours, separated by MC so beige, light green/dark green, beige, light pink/dark pink, beige etc.

Just red and green stripes to go. I frogged a partially completed cushion cover to get enough to make two bright orange stripes.

I will have to check my stitch count but it is 31 in wide and each colour stripe is four rows and takes about 15g

I have reached the end of my colour sequence so it is rectangular rather than square but that is okay.

I have nearly finished looping up the loops but will check it over tomorrow to make sure all the loops are linked correctly.
