I was so inspired by Moran’s blanket (crochetobjet podcast) that I decided I had to make another one. The one I made many years ago was made using dark color left over from making socks. The color didn’t do anything for me.
Moran’s was made from leftover sock yarn but with wonderful colors. Sometimes she used 2 different colors to make a color block or a stripe. She did plan her colors on each row. Then she laid the blanket out and planned the next colors going across. It was just beautiful. So am doing this again as I have lots of wonderful colors to choose from. It will be finished when it’s finished!

Finished 13 squares which amounts to 48” wide
2/13 finished row 2
2/18 finished row 3
3/2 finished row 4
3/13 finished row 5
3/25 finished row 6
4/12 finished row 7 - now measures 22” X 46”
4/21 finished row 8 - so after finishing the row I
realized That I made a mistake at the beginning of
the row, had to cut the first square out. When fixing
the square, The rib goes in the wrong direction.
That’s ok as this is a homemade blanket.
4/28 finished row 9, now 31” x 46”
5/11 finished row 10
5/19 finished row 11, now 37” x 46”
5/28 finished row 12, now 40” x 46”
6/10 finished row 13, now 45” x 46”
6/20 finished row 14, now 49” x 46”
6/25 finished row 15, after laying it on my bed it now measures 50” x 53”
I consider it now done, except for the border. Am using Felici bare SW fingering to make a garter border like the one on lindseynhamsley’s blanket (PU 1 to 1, 10 rows of garter).
Picked up stitches on one side, did 7 rows of garter stitch, then bound off on right side to the last stitch, then picked up stitches on the next side to start the garter stitch border. This side of the border used 17 grams of yarn.
Measures @ 50” by 55”. 13 squares across and 15 rows
