Simple socks to knit while supporting a relative in the hospital. I had no idea how the yarn would pool, and I’m really pleased with them. It was a good distraction.

To keep the cast-on suitably stretchy, I used Jeny’s Stretchy Slipknot Cast-on. It took me some practice to get the hang of it—and it’s definitely slower than my beloved long-tail cast-on—but it’s nicely stretchy and looks really great.
