Started out with the intention of seaming. Then read notes from others about picking up and thought, duh, why didn’t I think of that.

Picked up each square staring in the same center stitch.

On last square, joined to first square by knitting all stitches on the 1st row, picking up under the bind off V from the 1st square, turn and start 2nd row by knitting the picked up and 1st stitch together. Be sure to keep your picked up stitch tight on the turn.

followed sapphirechele’s border instruction to start with 6 additional stitches only i didn’t do a provisional cast on. i just did a long tail and will pick them up in the end like i did the last square.
