Overall, as the first major project I ever started, it was a good learning experience. That said…I wish the pattern came with a more petite size. I made the smallest size listed, and it’s still several inches too big. The neck is so wide that it keeps slipping down my shoulders, and that’s WITH the turtleneck underneath. I’ll have to put in some elastic or a drawstring or something. While the top lace is pretty, the waist doesn’t have enough shaping; it looks like a baggy tent on me.

If I’d had enough experience knitting, I could have added more shaping on my own, but this was my beginner project. I didn’t know how to alter a pattern when I made it. It wasn’t until I got to the sleeves that I had enough confidence to modify the pattern to bring the cuffs down to my wrists. (That 3/4 sleeve length is absurd.) I suppose it’s good enough for something I’ll only wear 1-2 times a year.
