06.24.15 This is a much needed easy knit to get my mind off other things, both knit and life related. I did have to restart it because casting on 60 stitches was too big. Luckily socks are a quick knit, so it didn’t take too much time to restart.

I had just printed off the Bellatrix sock pattern before knit night, and I immediately saw the perfect yarn. This pattern is meant to be a little off beat and funny, so I grabbed this cotton/nylon sock yarn that was a mix of orange, red, purple, and green. It’s not a colorway I would normally get, but this pattern didn’t call for safe colorways.

It’s been fun to work on. I did it toe-up because there’s nothing about the stitch pattern that has to be knit cuff down. I’m doing a fish lips kiss heel, because it really is life changing when it comes to socks. I did double check the pattern to make sure I remembered the process correctly, but after this 2nd heel, I doubt I’ll have to look at it again. It’s straightforward and simple, and it fits great. I cast on 50 stitches. Now the pattern says to knit six, then start the YOs, but I knit 5, because I think that makes the wavy parts line up better. Once I get to the cuff, I will just be ending the back row with a K1.

06.28.15 These socks are finished up. They are so comfy to wear. Now, it’s mostly cotton, so they do not stay up around my calves at all, but they look good all scrunched down around my ankles. The very top photo is very accurate for how they wear.
