06.08.12 This yarn is so buttery smooth and soft. Most yarns I have felt with any metallic are just a bit less smooth than other yarns, but this one is delightful! Even though this pattern is mostly stockinette, I’m going to plow through it.

06.18.12 The shawl is finished. I just need to weave in the ends and block it to make it larger and make it lay flat. It feels absolutely delightful on my skin.

06.19.12 I soaked the shawl in cold water for several minutes. It did not appear to bleed with such a short soak. I squeezed most of the water out, the rolled it up in a towel to get it even more dry. I’ve got it pinned now. The cold water appears to have made the stitches shrink. Maybe I should have used luke warm water instead. I’m not sure how to block the ruffle edge. I just pinned it down every inch or so. I’ll just have to see how it looks when it dries.

06.20.12 It is blocked. The main body of the shawl stretched out, but the garter stitch border remains smaller because of the cold water soak. I discovered a mistake. The third ruffle section is thicker than all the rest. I did two extra rows on accident. I only see it when I hold the shawl up. It doesn’t look off or anything. As it is the middle ruffle, it looks like an intentional design element. That’s my story anyways!

10.03.13 I frogged this shawl to reclaim the yarn. The combination of this yarn and pattern was not very good. Anywho, before I frogged it, I used 0.96 skeins which is 217 grams or 528 yards.
