11.15.14 This has been an interesting knit. My largest circular needles were size 10’s, so the whole thing is knit on those. I thought I could hold two needles together to get a larger needle size, but it was too fiddly. It seemed to work okay. Hopefully the fabric is not too dense to felt.

It’s been through several wash cycles. It took several cycles for the water to actually get hot because the hot water heater is on the other side of the house. It’s starting to felt now, but seriously, I’ve started the wash over like 8 times, added jeans, etc.

The purple yarn is felting slightly faster than the white. I’ve read on here that white can be tricky because of the chemicals used to make it white. That’s something to consider for my next hedgehog, but next time I think I will use my purple Malabrigo for the body.

11.12.14 I needle felted some matching purple eyes onto the Hedgehog today to finish him up. I love learning new techniques, so it’s pretty cool to have learned how to felt in the washing machine and the basics of needle felting.

I went ahead and purchased some size 10.5 and size 11 needles so that I can make another hedgehog. I used up the entire skein of fur fur on size 9 needles (little had less than a yard left when I did the bind off), so I will need to get more of the black fun fur if that is the color I do next.
