Notes

I’ll only be using the Finest Kind pattern as a guide. I’m working at a different gauge, I plan to convert it to a raglan, and I’ll be making mine a cardigan.

I started with a full cone and 2 50 gram balls of Holst Garn Tides. I skeined and washed all of the yarn before using it to eliminate the factory spinning oils/sizing. It feels much nicer after washing!

My gauge in moss stitch, using yarn held double and knit flat, is: 18 stitches and 27 rows in 4 inches.

This project makes very good TV knitting. I’m up to the underarms of the body now.

  • NEXT TIME knit the button bands on before doing the steek. It will be a little more difficult to stay stitch and cut the steek but it will ensure that both sides of the fronts line up perfectly.
