8 sep: finished! needs a few ends woven in and a wash/block.
4 sep: back from a short camping trip, didn’t get much done but I did manage to alternate the old skein with the new skein and am now onto the new skein only. New skein has more red in it but I think it will be ok.
24 aug: yarn arrived! yay. I am going to rip out a few inches of the old yarn and alternate skeins for a while before continuing with the new skein. It looks different for sure, but I -think- it will work out ok. I really love love love this color. It’s purple and pink and red.
18 aug: ack! ran out of yarn. ordered another skein since I need something like 20g more. So bummed, I wanted to finish this over the weekend!
10 aug: next up, the short rows section. I hope to finish this next week while I’m on staycation.
3 aug: back to where I was when I ripped before, the first ‘internal’ cable.
31 jul: ripped AGAIN. thought I misunderstood the directions. I didn’t. They are a little confusing (surprising for a Ysolda pattern). After the beginning chart, you continue the m1 at the end of the RS rows until you have 60-something stitches (as it says in the pattern). The part that says NOT to do the m1 until row 40-something is for a later portion of the pattern.
24 jul: restarted and got to the first chart.
22 jul: ripped out the beginning -- I was slipping with yarn in back instead of in front, so my edges were messy. I wasn’t very far along so it was no big deal to restart.

I think I have one of the adjusted size skeins, so I should have more like 380yd, which should still be enough to make this. I may be cutting it close though.

only just started this, thinking it will be a gift. But also wondering for whom? This is a very me color, pinky-red. Who else would like that color??!

the end is pointy and cute!
