How to knit the hat:

Begin at the crown by casting on 4 stitches, then knit them forward and backward in the next row to increase to 8 stitches. Purl the following row, then increase to 16 stitches by knitting each stitch forward and backward. Purl one more row before transitioning to double-pointed needles. The back-and-forth rows at the beginning will create a small hole at the center, which should be sewn closed later.

To shape the crown, switch to double-pointed needles and start a knit round. Work the following sequence 4 times: knit 1, make 1 left, knit 2, make 1 right, knit 1. Every other round will be an increase round, gradually replacing “knit 2” with “knit 4,” then “knit 6,” and continuing in this manner. The rounds in between are knitted without increases.

Continue increasing until you reach 96 stitches. In the next round, increase to 99 stitches, distributing the increases evenly. Work 4 times the cloud pattern as used in the matching sweater, then finish the hat with a 1x1 ribbing for 2-3cm.

The finished hat will measure approximately 20cm in width and 15cm in total height.
