Notes

I’m a big girl, so when I started these, I figured I needed the biggest size. I dutifully cast on for that size, but it was coming out HUGE! I honestly think it’s the yarn. It says it’s worsted weight but it feels at the very least an Aran weight, if not a light bulky.

So I frogged and cast on again with 50 stitches. The pattern calls for two vertical repeats even, but I did only one. Started increases in the next vertical repeat, and did five sets of increases, then went right to upper ribbing and bound off in rib.

On the needles, it was still looking big but I just kept reminding myself that I have huge calves. I tried it on immediately after cast-off and it fits well!

Will make a separate project for the right leg, because I intend to submit it to Nerdopolis separately from this one.

Description of how event theme is met: This was a new project for this year. I went to a concert in January and wore a skirt so my legs got cold. :( Answer: knit legwarmers! I started it last month in hopes of finishing it for one of the themes then. Alas, that didn’t happen. But it’s finished now and fits well and I am happy!

Team shout out for Nerd Cred: It’s red, just like a red mage from the Final Fantasy franchise.
