Okay, so! I play Final Fantasy XIV, an MMORPG. A big expansion to the game, Endwalker, came out in December, and a few months later patch 6.1 was announced. Whenever they announce a patch they put out some official artwork to promote it.

Well, EVERYONE was enamored with the 6.1 artwork! They started drawing their characters in the new outfit it depicted, or posing their characters in game in the same way as the artwork. I can’t draw and I suck at gpose, but I CAN knit, and so I first knit a doll of one of my characters, then knit the outfit shown in the artwork.

I completely designed the pattern myself. It took some doing! I had to swatch the box pleats to figure out how many stitches to cast on. The box pleats also required doing the tunic bottom up, and well, I had never done a bottom-up raglan. I think I ripped the raglan back four times before I got it figured out. BUT I DID IT!

There are some minor changes I’d make if I were to do this again (I wrote down everything I did so I could repeat it) but overall I’m VERY pleased with the results.
