Dividing for front and back - work to marker, M1R, k2, turn (leaving the rest of the sts on the needle); p to end. Rpt these two rows in MC five times. Total of 6 sts increased in MC, 58 sts for right front. Work two more incr rows, one each in CC1 and CC2. 2 incrs, 60 sts.
then, work a kfb at each end of the next row to accommodate the colourwork chart. so actually, 62sts.

Front neck shaping - on right front work as p2tog placed one st before end of row

• work a decr every 4th row, 10 more times (now 11 decrs)

7 nov - have knit 7 garter ridges for neck bnd. 7 to go!
6 nov - yay, got all the sts picked up for the front band and knit a row. Yet to actually count how many sts but possibly two hundred odd. (actually 304)
5 nov - finished other cuff.
3 nov - finished left front (for the second time). All seamed and ends woven in. Just one more cuff and collar to go!
31 oct - on row 10 of sleeve band: k1, k2tog, k to three sts before end, ssk, k1.
30 oct - finished left front!!
29 oct - sigh, finished the lower band again. Decided to try and match the neap-tide gradient to that on the right front.
28 oct - finished back and seamed right shoulder. neap tide 70gm; ksh 16gm; shilasdair 70gm. Finished lower band on left front.
26 oct - finished row 38 of pattern on back. so yay, half way!
22 oct - after completing right front, shilasdair 84gm, ksh 20gm, neap tide 85gm.
21 oct - 72 rows st st, will now divide. Shilasdair 91gm, KSH 25gm, neap tide 92gm. Row gauge is difft over mosaic knitting. I have recharted it but current plan is to knit to 12cm (where neck shaping starts) and reassess!
18 oct - soaked this for a while today, then gave it some good tugging to even out the sts. Just as I thought, 30 rows/10cm. 60 rows done. The washed fabric is just divine. Finished that partial ball and started a new skein.
17 oct - need to do a steam block but looks like 30 rows per 10cm. 52 rows st st done, measures 25cm. Yay, I knit the end of the skein today, which I had been aiming for, and joined in a partial ball which I think I’ll get through quite quickly.
15 oct - 10 st st rows, measures about 3cm.
14 oct - 14 garter ridges done. Moving on to st st section. Who-hoo, six rows of st st. These are long rows. Curious to see what row gauge turns out to be.
13 oct - 7 garter ridges is 3.5cm
12 oct - cast on, yay. 222 sts.
