I’m going to need to adjust the size for a larger chest. So that will likely be for 1-2 sizes larger. Because of that I would not have enough of the Cascade 220 that I got at the Knitting Guild Auction. I’m adding the Wool of the Andes to use as an accent color and additional yardage. I’m planning to use it for the ribbing of the cuffs, waist, and neck. As well as a band of color on the upper sleeves and chest.
I’ve started with the sleeves, which I’m knitting as per the pattern for a total length of 19”. The cuff is in Wool of the Andes, then switched to Cascade 200. At about 12-13 inches I’ll switch back to Wool of the Andes to the full length. I plan to make both sleeves before making the body.

Finished the first sleeve. I’m happy with the gauge and drape so I cast on the second sleeve.

Finished the second sleeve and cast on the ribbing for the body.

Started front pocket. Using the accent color of Wool of the Andes for the pocket. Had trouble picking up the stitches per the pattern instructions. Wound up picking up the right leg of each stitch and knitting them.

The pocket knit up nicely with no issues once I got the stitches picked up. Now I’m working on the body so that it’s the same length as the pocket and I can fuse the stitches together.

Fused the pocket to the body. Now just working the body up to the point of joining the sleeves. I have 2 skeins of the Wool of the Andes left, so I’m planning to do a band in that color at the upper part of the body to match the sleeves.

A sad gauge issue discovered. I was almost to the point on the body to add the sleeves and wasn’t sure of my size or body length. So I decided to put it on waste yarn so I could try it on and double check the measurements.
Needless to say it was HUGE! I’m not a big fan on a lot of positive ease to begin with, but this came out 8” wider than I had planned for. My knitted gauge was not the same as my swatch had been, so I am frogging the body and starting over. I had knit the sleeves first and they came out fine, so those are salvageable. I’m glad I caught this sooner rather than later. I hate frogging all that knitting but the finished sweater would have been enormous and unwearable.

Started the body over having adjusted the stitch count. I tried it on after a few inches were knit past the ribbing. It’s a much better fit. Chose to knit the pocket in the main color rather than the accent color.
Did a stripe of accent color along the chest that will match the placement of the sleeves. Knit a longer body than the pattern calls for as I prefer that type of fit. The sleeves have been attached and I’ve started the yoke decreases. Will switch back to the main color.

The yoke is finished and I’m at the neckline. Decided to try it on and was very pleased with the fit. All that’s left to knit is the hood.

Finished knitting the hood and Kitchener stitched it together. Dis the underarm stitches and weaved in any loose ends. Officially completed!
