Notes

2010-09-24 Blocking makes a big difference in this pattern. I soaked the swatch in cold water, squeezed out the excess and laid it flat, indoors, with a fan blowing on it. I pulled the selvedges into the waves they wanted to make, stretching the fabric width-wise to open up the eyelets.

I am pretty happy with the way this came out. I think the original pattern is more delicate and lacy, but this is pretty nice, too.

“Dayflower” is one of the more complex lace patterns that has been published only as writted directions, in Barbara Walker’s “Second Treasury of Knitting Patterns.” So I charted it. That was fun. Then someone suggested that he would like to make the stitch pattern in different sizes. It was pretty easy to enlarge the pattern working from the chart, so I did that. Let’s see how it looks knitted.

Here’s the original, on the Walker Treasury Project website: Dayflower.
