17th May: Started this as Dawn’s yarn has been sitting there calling me long enough and I have been working with HUGE hooks for me - 5mm and 6mm for blankets and needed to do some fine work. I find the finer stuff also requires more concentration so better distraction from pain!!

Completed up to row 16 this evening. There are a couple of rows which could be more clearly worded I feel, but slowly does it and I worked it out!! LOVE working with this thread and CANNOT wait to see when the colour changes happen.

I am SO THRILLED Dawn is dyeing gradient lace weight!!

11th June: I have worked a few rows here and there amongst other things and then just hunkered down for a night to get the rest of it finished. It is lovely!
I adlibbed 3 rows to use up the most of the gorgeous gradient yarn that I had. I tried to keep faithful to the pattern.

It is blocking now. I used a smaller than called for hook as I tend to be a bit of a looser crochet’er and my experience has been that it is better to use a slightly smaller hook as it allows the blocking to really open up the pattern quite well.

I am so excited to see how this is unblocked. The colours are so lovely. Dawn is one talented woman that is for sure!!

(and I have 4 more balls of lovely different coloured gradients to make some more lovely doilies with - lucky me!!)
