I embroidered the eyes in black yarn with some simple satin stitches prior to attaching them to the head.
My changes to the arms and legs are as follows:
Hand/Arm:
worked in the round without joining; starting at the hand end.
1) 4 sc in a magic ring (4 sc)
2) 2 sc in each st around (8 sc)
3) sc around (8)
4) sc2tog around (4)
5-8) sc in each st around
fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.
note: I did not stuff the hands.
Foot/Leg:
worked in the round without joining; starting at the foot end.
1) 6 sc into a magic ring (6 sc)
2) 2 sc into each st around (12 sc)
3) sc in each st around (12 sc)
4) sc2tog 4 times. sc in each of the next 4 st (8 sc)
5) sc2tog twice. sc in each of the next 4 st (6 sc)
6-16) sc in each st around.
fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing
Note: I also did not stuff the feet or legs
To attach the legs, I held the legs against the body with the feet up by its head (like he was touching his toes) and sewed just the top of the legs firmly in place. then I folded the leg over and sewed through the ankle area (around round 5) so that it created his sitting position. the legs are not stuffed at all, in fact, when sewing in the tail from the beginning round, I also put a few stitches through the foot to keep in nice and flat.
For his “nose” I just did 3 straight stitches in the same color yarn.
