I used worsted because the that’s the only yarn I can find that glows in the dark! In the light, it’s white. I couldn’t find dark blue worsted in my stash, so I used black. I think it looks quite striking, actually.

Worsted is thinner than bulky, so I used a smaller styrofoam wreath base. This one is 16.6cm diameter. In a 3-pack of styrofoam rings from Dollarama, this is the middle size.

I used a 4-hole button so the “highlight” stitch would be off-centre.

I added a lower eyelid to give him more expression.

Ch 5. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, ss 1, sc 2, ss1, cut yarn leaving 12” and pull yarn through last loop.

I used the Glow yarn to stitch stars onto the sky, so they also glow in the dark.

Of all the moon-face patterns I have seen, this one looks friendliest without being stylized and cutesy.
