I really liked this cap for my mom. I tried it on myself, but it was a bit to small for me. So I wanted to make one with a thicker yarn, but my current yarn is really a lot thicker. I am trying it anyway, and will see if I like the result.
The yarn says to use a 9 mm hook, I went for 8. The vented past is about 23 cm diameter.
