One of my favorite creatures is the fox, whether the more common red fox or the critically endangered Darwin’s Fox, I love them all. Even as a child I was fascinated by these unique animals that reminded me so much of a cat, but looked so much like a canine. They are cunning and swift and have gained the title “Trickster” in many cultures.

Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This is a wonderfully complex combination of cables and twisted stitches with a hint of eyelets that bring an elegant look to your socks. When I was younger I lived in Phoenix, Arizona and my favorite time of the year was the “monsoon” season. Hot, sweltering mornings were relieved by torrential, afternoon downpours and I loved it all. I wanted to share some of that feeling with a simple, yet elegant shawl pattern that is easy to memorize as you go.

The flower gardens that are blooming across the country have always had a special place in my heart. Early this year I was able to watch many blossoms opening up and shining their bright colors. And, yes, there were cats that loved to jump around the flowers and chase each other around. It was during one of these mornings that I thought about h...

Rivers & Rain is a fun reversible cable scarf that is much simpler than it looks. At the edges, the cables are longer to represent the slower current at the edge of a river. As you work your way across, you will find the cables getting closer together to signify the faster current found near the center of moving water.

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This circular shawl was designed and knit during the coldest winter I’ve ever had to go through. I wanted something large and warm and hoped it would be large enough to cover me as the temperatures dropped. It certainly is that! My version ended up being 88” across after blocking and I used fingering weight yarns.
Knitting: Cowl
Transitions is wide and loose cowl knit flat and on a sharp bias. Rows of garter stitch separate the lace charts and give an added stability throughout. Each lace panel was knit with a different color, but you can also use a gradient yarn or any other colors you choose.
