you may use any yarn you want, but as it is an amigurumi, it is best to work with a hook 0.5 mm smaller than what the yard recommends. Ex : yarn hook recommended is 4 mm -> use a 3.5 mm hook. etc… so that the stuffing does not show.

Gauge is not important as long as yarn and hook are adapted together. Ex : if yarn is to be crocheted with 3 mm hook, then choose a 2.5 mm hook to produce a tighter work.
