This is done in a continuous round (no slip stitches for ch in each round, unless otherwise noted).

If you have to change the needle size to adjust for gauge, make sure you have a smaller set that is 1.00 mm smaller than the size you used to achieve the gauge for the brim.

This is a more loose fit. If you want it a bit smaller you could go down a hook size. or yarn, but just a warning, if you go down both, it will be much smaller. I went down both needle and yarn and was able to make a hat for my 5-year old.

Red Heart yarn is not required any 4 medium weight yarn will work.
