Four different colours are used, but the beret may be knitted in two contrasting colours.

This hat has a turned up brim for extra warmth. The motif is common in Scandanavia, and has also been used in Fair Isle.

This bonnet has a square crown. It is similar to one knitted about 1955.

This pattern used two colours and may be knitted in any yarn weight approx 175m/50 gm. The motif is traditional Norwegian “Fana mønster”.

Bonnet or pixie suitable for children

The pattern is from a piece of woven cloth, dating from 400 - 500 AD. The cloth was found in a bog on a farm at Helgaland, Rogaland County, on the west coast of Norway, about 1930. The patterns have been reconstructed.

Knitted in the round. 2 or 3 colours can be used.
