This pattern used two colours and may be knitted in any yarn weight approx 175m/50 gm. The motif is traditional Norwegian “Fana mønster”.

The pattern is from a piece of woven cloth, dating from 400 - 500 AD. The cloth was found in a bog on a farm at Helgaland, Rogaland County, on the west coast of Norway, about 1930. The patterns have been reconstructed.
