Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
9/27/09 - A mistake in the pattern, involving the lace blocks, has been pointed out to me. I have corrected this and the lace pattern should be fine now. My sincere and embarrassed apologies for any inconvenience!
Knitting: Cowl
Another pattern based on Barbara Walker’s Dragon Skin stitch pattern. This time, the central rib is purled instead of knit.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
The sample hat was made with worsted weight wool but you needn’t stick to that. In fact I wouldn’t have stipulated it if the Ravelry form didn’t require it. You can use any yarn you like (lace weight might not be your best choice for warmth…) and any size needles. It’s the particular construction that allows for this.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
These are light duty, indoor (or driving) mitts meant to add a little warmth and some fun decoration while remaining non-intrusive.
Knitting: Throw
General tips and suggestions more than a pattern but let me tell you - there is nothing so warming and snuggly as a mohair blanket :) Easy to do and a very satisfying project.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Triangular entrelac Shawl in one main color and two contrast colors. Knit on garter stitch border with contrast color crocheted edging.
Crochet: Drawstring Bag
Three whimsical, little bags that use about 50 grams of worsted weight cotton each. A couple of them combine both knitting and crocheting techniques, the other is exclusively crochet. They work up very quickly.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Top-down construction, worsted weight shawl based on the Dragon Skin stitch pattern.
Knitting: Drawstring Bag
Made with the idea in mind of policing your dog - you know, pooper scooper detail? Line this with a plastic bag and no one will ever know your carrying dog leavings :)
Knitting: Mittens
Mitten cuff is worked in a long band which is joined to the cast on edge when sufficient length has been acheived. Stitches are then picked up around the cuff and the mitten is knit upward from there.
Knitting: Scarf
Simple and quick entrelac scarf with cat related lace elements.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
A sweet and simple baby/toddler blanket - a little larger than usual. Very soft and very easy :)
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Sizae 2 needles will make an average sized sock. Size 3 needles will make a comfortable large sock and sport weight will work well with them. For a smaller size, size 1 needles and fingering/sock weight should be perfect.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
A nice, light-weight pair of decoratively beaded, fingerless gloves named after the World of Warcraft convention :) What can I say - I’m a player :)
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
No gauge or recommended yarn listed.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
The pattern is set up so that the cables on the left glove turn in the opposite direction of the cables on the right glove. Yes, I am that much of a geek :)
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Pretty and feminine fingerless gloves featuring lace and bobbles that evoke leaves and flowers.
Knitting: Stitch pattern
This link brings you to a tutorial, not a ‘pattern’, per se. It can be turned into a scarf though, if one were to ‘keep knitting’. But it could also be knitted into a square of some kind, or just a small rectangle for practice.
Knitting: Scarf
Melody (no longer available) is a worsted weight mohair blend. Any mohair that works to worsted gauge would work just fine - and lace weight would be gorgeous :)
Knitting: Purse / Handbag
A fancy but sturdy little bag with a bit of romance in its nature :)
Knitting: Scarf
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
My first mitts ever - still being worn, still going strong :) I have grown fonder of gusseted designs since this was made, but this has the virtue of simplicity and a pair is a very fast project!
Knitting: Scarf
Cabled scarf with garter stitch rather than reverse stockinette. This gives the scarf the advantage of lying flat so there’s no curl to block out :)
Knitting: Drawstring Bag
If beads are desired, you will need 50 “E” (or size 6) beads.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Simple and fairly quick, this would probably be a good shawl/stole for a beginning knitter.
