The choice of yarn is crucial for the finished product. You will need a bulky thick-n-thin (we used Berroco Mojo), along with a single-ply light bulky (we used Mirasol Sulka). If you do not choose a thick-n-thin and a single-ply you will NOT get the right look.

The yarn used for the brim is Lang Astoria, an aran weight nylon/wool blend. It has 76 yards on a skein and we used roughly half a skein. The gauge with the Astoria yarn is 24 sts = 4” in K2P2 ribbing.
