Knitting: Hats - Other
The hat is a good beginning project to introduce changing stitches within a row as well as yo and k2tog. The pattern calls for slip stitch (crochet) seaming but can be seamed in a variety of ways. The points of the hat are folded down and buttoned or tied to create shaping but the hat can be worn without folds.
Crochet: Scarf
This pattern also includes instructions for a knitted version.
Crochet: Washcloth / Dishcloth
Gauge is not important for this project.
Crochet: Applique / Embellishment
The ruffle pom pom is worked in all single crochet. As more rounds are stitched the edges will begin to twist and curl. The last round can be worked in a picot stitch to make the edge frilly. Use hook appropriate to weight of yarn. The project is a fun alternate to a true pom pom and a great stash buster.

Crochet: Beanie, Toque
The body of the hat is worked in half double crochet post stitches and increases from crown to brim. The leaf pattern is then worked in 2 rows of crocodile stitch around edge. The stem is worked in single crochet stitches and the tendril in chain and slip stitches.
Crochet: Scarf
This scarf was designed as a project that incorporates the basic stitches and techniques of row crocheting. It is suggested that beginners use DK weight cotton yarn but the pattern is adaptable to any weight yarn. Simply use the suggested hook size and gauge given on selected yarn.
