Easy Everyday Wearables is all about fuss-free crochet designs that are stylish, timeless and very wearable but only use basic crochet skills. We’ve used chunkier yarns for quicker makes but not sacrificied our usual attention to detail and fit. All patterns have inclusive adult sizing with three options for accessories and XS to 5X for garments.

Maybe it’s the somewhat shy exhibitionist in me, but I have always loved making things to wear. The thrill of being able to say “Thanks, I made it.” never gets old. When times have been tight or shopping has been an unpleasant process (for various reasons) I’ve been glad of my ability to combine my favourite leisure activities with the ability to produce interesting and elegant clothing for myself whether by sewing, knitting or crocheting.

At The Crochet Project, if you can’t wear it generally we don’t make it. And our favourite thing to wear is a cardigan. Whether it is a cosy cardigan to snuggle into or a light one to slip over your shoulders to keep the chills off, cardigans are the ultimate all season wear. Cardigans do variable weather and heating systems better than anything else.

Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
There are so many beautiful hand-dyed yarns on the market: variegated, semi solids and speckles. But it can be difficult to find crochet patterns that allow the yarn to be the star. This shawl uses one of each and combines them with stitches that really allow the yarn to shine.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
This pretty triangular shawl is reversible and uses an exciting and unusual technique: interlocking crochet. Interlocking crochet is like two filet crochet meshes, worked at the same time, through each other, to create a reversible fabric with intricate geometric designs. You can find tutorials for this technique here.

Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl was born out of a challenge. I’d often admired the hand-dyed skeins of yarn that have a mini rainbow flash in an otherwise solid skein – often called zip skeins. In knitting they produce a flash of rainbow stitches.

About End of the Box
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
Working from home and rarely leaving the farm means that I have been known to make some pretty dubious fashion choices. A long skirt over my pyjama bottoms is a frequent choice, as is my favourite denim shirt thrown on over whatever clean pair of jeans I can find. Sometimes, those are black, but more often than not, I meet the postie in that gr...

The name of this centre out triangular shawl comes from music, raising or lowering the scales but keeping the intervals the same. Likewise the stitches subtly change from section to section, opening out a little more with each change to become lacier towards the edge.

Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
The name comes from the edge trim which is a variation on a vintage pattern called “A mile a minute.” When I found the trim in a vintage book I thought it meant that it worked up very quickly until Kat told me that its the name of a weed similar to bindweed. Its still a very quick trim and pattern to work – but maybe not quite breaking land spe...
