Knitting: Poncho
Before I started this design all I knew was that I wanted a poncho that would sit well on me as a wheelchair user, while also being a stylish and chic poncho for everyone. The result is a square poncho with a contrasting detail around the lower edge that is repeated on the cowl neck.
Knitting: Hats - Other
This simple cabled hat can be made in an evening and uses very little yarn. The simple cable hides the decreases and the extra twisted stitch adds detail. Topped off with a bobble this makes a darling little hat for any child!
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
I wanted a simple pair of wrist warmers and most definitely didn’t want a pattern on the palms or thumbs for as a wheeelchair user both make pushing much harder!
Knitting: Pillow / Cushion
This design was inspired by the flags used in the Equestrian jumps for the Modern Pentathlon. Further research found that there is a flag for every letter and a pennant for every number. Using the naval flags and pennants I have created a cushion that circumvents the no ‘London 2012’ restriction imposed by LOCOG on the Woolsack project.
