Announcing the 1st Edition of Range! Made of California-grown Rambouillet wool, available in 4 natural colors, white, silver, grey, and black. It was milled at Wyoming-based Mountain Meadows. This is our first combed farm-yarn; it is 3-ply and the texture is smooth.

Range is the over-arching title for the line of yarn we create which is milled to 5 stitches per inch, a classic DK weight, and made with California wool. At Verb, our goal is to help you create clothing from locally / sustainably grown materials, we have found DK weight yarn sits at the sweet spot of being heavy enough to make a sweater, but just the right amount of warmth for the Bay Area’s mild climate, or a layering piece if you live in a colder climate.

Range is our third line of California-grown wool yarn. It forms the basis of our project titled The California Wool Project, which is our attempt to help revitalize the California wool industry. In 2012, in Northern California, over 8000 pounds of wool fleece was discarded. In asking ourselves how we could participate, we created our 1st yarn line, Pioneer, in hopes of many more, made with California wool. Our goal is to support farmers, US mills, and to create a yarn, year after year, which yields 5 stitches per inch for the perfect sweater.

There is a limited amount of this yarn available. We encourage you to purchase all of the yarn required to make your intended project.
