Extra-fine Merino Wool with a Luxurious Brushed Finish

Crofter is a roving yarn made from extra-fine merino wool blended with alpaca.
Roving yarns are lightly twisted strands of thick wool, resulting in a single-ply yarn that is lofty and substantial. This structure gives Crofter its naturally bulky feel and soft, voluminous texture once knitted.

Ideal for hand knitting, Crofter works beautifully on 4 mm needles. After blocking, the alpaca fibers bloom gently to fill the fabric, creating a rich and elegant halo.

The Oatcake and Spinney colorways feature subtle neps in mustard, navy, and white, while Mist Blue is accented with navy, blue, and white neps—each blend carefully crafted to elevate the overall depth and sophistication of the yarn.

While the yarn may feel thinner when wound tightly on the cone, it softens, fluffs, and lightly felts during washing—resulting in a thicker, more cohesive fabric with a satisfyingly plush finish.
