Introducing I’m Not Leather, a yarn developed by a leather expert.

I’m Not Leather is a domestically produced faux leather yarn made from 100% polyester. It was created from a desire to recreate the look and feel of leather using crochet. Since real leather is extremely expensive and cannot be spun into yarn, this special yarn is crafted by weaving polyester into a tubular chain, then finishing it with a wax coating to mimic the texture and appearance of leather as closely as possible.

Just like real leather, it’s tough—which can put some strain on your fingers while working—but tests have shown that it causes less fatigue compared to most waxed cords or faux leather straps on the market. It’s been carefully developed to strike the perfect balance for handcraft use.

When used for crocheting bags, it provides a firmness and premium feel that is difficult to achieve with ordinary yarns.
Due to its coarse texture, we recommend using finger tape while working to avoid irritation.

Please note that texture may vary even within the same color lot. This is a natural result of the coating process, where the wax may either absorb into the yarn or dry on the surface. These differences are not considered defects, but part of the yarn’s unique character.

The yarn may appear to have different volumes depending on the tension used during winding, so please check by weight, not by size.
