This thread is available in Mexico (and perhaps elsewhere) and comes in a simple spool. Yardage is not given. I had to ask at the store. I do know it’s 100% cotton and it’s super-sturdy. Great for bags, belts, jewelry. I’ve been using a variety of crochet hooks, even as large as a G hook. It works fine! It would probably be ok with a larger hook too. Sorry no gauge or needle size available.

I think it would be OK as a machine wash but it would affect the stiffness of your project.
