Lucy in the sky with diamonds artyarn

For sale in my Etsy shop.
I have loved the Beatles ever since I was a young teenager. “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds” has always been one of my favorite songs. This song has so much visual imagery, that I decided to make an artyarn about the song. Yellow and green fabric flowers are the “cellophane flowers of yellow and green,” white handfelted wool beads are the “marshmallow pies.” There is a lot of orange in the yarn, hence “tangerine trees and marmalade skies.” I put in about 2 dozen different colored diamond-shaped beads for the diamonds. And I put in about 20 green and yellow metallic pompoms to top the whole thing out.
60 yards, 5 ounces/142 grams. Super bulky, size 13US knitting needles and up. Fibers (many of which I handdyed) include wool, mohiar, tencel, bamboo, recycled sari silk, banana fiber and soysilk. Corespun around a rainbow colored wool yarn. Bound with 2 threads: one with yellow and green fabric flowers and diamond shaped beads, the other with green and yellow pompoms and orange and yellow seed beads. About 20 white handfelted “marshmallows” were later sewn by hand onto the yarn.
