I am really attracted to the gorgeous and sometimes shocking colors of bird plumage. I chose to spin a yarn based on the colors of peacocks: teal, turquoise, violet, sapphire, jade, copper, indigo and more.

“Peacock” is approximately 142 yards and weighs 4.9 ounces/139 grams. It is comprised of many diverse fibers (many which I hand dyed) including wool, mohair, tencel, recycled sari silk, and green metallic tencel. Mohair locks add interesting textures. About 100 of small glass beads of various colors and shapes were strung on to a turquoise thread and plied in. They sparkle like little treasures. This is an aran weight yarn, good for knitting on size 10 US needles and up.

This yarn is quite dark and therefore hard to photograph accurately. The colors are more dark and saturated than they appear in the pictures. Photos do not do this stunning yarn justice.
