Our wonderfully soft and fluffy Handdyed Alpaca Suri consists of 74% baby suri alpaca, 22% merino, and 2% polyamide, with a yardage of 260 meters per 100g.

There are two types of alpaca: suri and huacaya. Suri alpaca is rarer, making up about 5% of the total alpaca population. The hair of the suri alpaca is longer and shinier. Baby suri alpaca refers to the fleece from an alpaca’s very first shearing, which is the finest and softest fiber available.

Alpaca wool is incredibly soft and warmer than sheep’s wool. Here, it is brushed and blended with soft merino wool and a small amount of polyamide to hold the fibers together. The result is a super soft and luxurious yarn, light and fluffy, and an absolute delight to knit with.

This yarn is perfect for most garments and accessories and is so soft that even those with wool sensitivity can wear it comfortably. It can also be used as an alternative to our Fat Mohair.

We recommend knitting with 5 – 8 mm needles.

Please note that this yarn is hand-dyed in small batches, so colors may vary from batch to batch.
