世界的に希少なウールを使用しており、年間の生産量も限られています。

洗うことで膨らんで、編み目も安定して綺麗に仕上がります。

北米のロッキー山脈の麓で生育されたメリノ種を原料とした梳毛ウールです。

オーストラリアメリノは柔らかく光沢がある代わりに、柔らかすぎるため型崩れしやすい。

また南米メリノは軽く、キックバックがあり、膨らみもあるが肌触りがあまり良くないというそれぞれの特徴があります。

2つの良いところを取るために、一般的には原毛をハーフミックスして原料を揃えます。

この「またね」の原料となるウールは北米ロッキー山脈の生活環境で育った羊の中でも細い毛を持つファインメリノの原毛を選定。

素材を良さを引き出すために、世界的にも珍しい独自の紡績機を使い、撚りを極力抑えながら紡績して膨らみと柔らかさの両方が共存するように紡績しています。

そもそも4番手の毛糸を作るのに、手芸糸としては1本の糸で形成されている毛糸が一般的です。多くても、8番手の糸を2本で撚り（2/8）4番手の毛糸を作るのが良く見るのではないのでしょうか。

16番手の糸は工業用としてよく使われる太さで、そのような繊細な番手の糸を4本撚糸することで、まるでオーストラリアメリノと南米メリノをミックスさせたような、柔らかくて軽く、さらにキックバックもあって膨らむという不思議なウールが生まれました。多本撚糸により編み目の目面が圧倒的に綺麗に仕上がります。

王道のウールでありながらちょっと変わった編み心地を是非味わってください。

家庭用編み機では4.5ピッチ（ダイヤル一番緩く）〜6.5(7)ピッチにも

Although it is made from 100% wool, this combed wool has the kickback (stretchability) and resilience of a stretchy material.
It is light, soft, and fluffy, combining three qualities that make it a highly versatile wool.

This wool is made from a globally rare type of wool, and its annual production is limited.

When washed, it expands, and the stitchwork becomes stable and beautifully finished.

This is combed wool made from merino sheep raised at the base of the Rocky Mountains in North America.

Australian merino is soft and shiny, but it is too soft, making it prone to losing its shape.
South American merino is light, has good kickback, and expands well, but it has a rougher texture. Each has its own distinct characteristics.

To combine the best qualities of both, it is common to blend raw fibers together.
However, for this “Matane” wool, we have selected fine merino wool from sheep raised in the Rocky Mountain environment, known for its fine fibers.

To bring out the best in the material, we use a rare and unique spinning machine, minimizing the twist during the spinning process to create a yarn that maintains both its expansion and softness.

Typically, to make 4-ply yarn, craft yarn is spun into a single strand. Even when creating a 4-ply yarn from two strands of 8-ply yarn (2/8), this is not commonly seen.
16-ply yarn is typically used in industrial applications, and by twisting 4 strands of such delicate yarn, a wool is created that is soft, light, has good kickback, and expands, almost like a blend of Australian and South American merino. The multi-ply yarn results in exceptionally smooth and beautifully finished stitches.

Although it is traditional wool, we invite you to experience its unique knitting texture.

For domestic knitting machines, you can knit tightly with finer needles (from 4.5 pitch the loosest dial setting to 6.5 or 7 pitch) to achieve more of a professional, product-like kickback.
