Polwarth is a breed of sheep that is closely related to Merino. It was developed in the 1880’s in Australia and is a 3/4 Merino crossed with 1/4 Lincoln. The Merino adds crimp and softness and the Lincoln adds sheen and strength. This blend with its small percentage of silk, is light, soft and strong.
