This is 1/12 weaving yarn which also knits beautifully into light lace-weight fabrics or use several strands together to knit chunkier items with great stitch definition. The yarn is supplied oiled in hanks. It needs to be washed twice to remove the spinning oils and allow the wool to full / bloom. I personally source the fleece for this yarn from farmers in and around the Yorkshire Dales National Park. I sort the fleece by hand before sending it away to be scoured then spun at a small spinning company in Yorkshire. The yarn is available in an undyed ecru or in a variety of subtle colours inspired by the northern landscape of the UK.
