The composition of our Nepal yarn is really out of the ordinary: 60% organic cotton and 40% linen. The mixture allows the yarn to be both sturdy and soft. The fact that it is twisted gives Nepal a particularly beautiful and natural structure.

While the cotton for this vegan yarn comes from Italy, the linen come from China. It is spun and dyed in Italy.

Nepal has excellent wearing properties: cotton makes it breathable, the linen content gives the yarn a pleasant feel. This makes Nepal the perfect basis for airy tops, but it is warm enough to be a nice all-year-round yarn.

Nepal is wonderful for light sweaters or cardigans, as well as accessories such as knitted or crocheted scarves. This light yarn is easy to handle and feels very pleasant on the skin. What makes it stand out is its natural, vibrant colours. Furthermore, the yarn is particularly durable; garments made from it tend not to stretch and do not wear out easily.

In February 2024 we changed the composition from 60% cotton (organic), 28% linen and 12% nettle to 60% cotton (organic) and 40% linen.

Unser Garn Nepal ist von der Zusammensetzung her wirklich nicht alltäglich: Zu 60 Prozent Bio-Baumwolle gesellen sich 40 Prozent Leinen. Die Mischung lässt das Garn griffig und weich zugleich sein – bedingt auch durch die besondere Zwirnung, die Nepal eine besonders schöne und natürliche Struktur verleiht.

Während die Baumwolle für dieses vegane Garn aus Italien stammt, kommt das Leinen aus China.
Versponnen und gefärbt wird es in Italien.

Nepal verfügt über ausgezeichnete Trageeigenschaften: Die Baumwolle ist atmungsaktiv, der Leinen-Anteil verleiht dem Garn eine angenehme Haptik. Das macht Nepal zur perfekten Grundlage für luftige Oberteile, es ist aber wärmend genug, um ein schönes Ganzjahresgarn zu sein.

Nepal eignet sich wunderbar für leichte Pullover oder Strickjacken, aber auch Accessoires wie Tücher lassen sich sehr gut aus ihr stricken oder häkeln. Das leichte und dennoch griffige Jahr fühlt sich sehr angenehm auf der Haut an und besticht durch seine natürlichen, ausdrucksstarken Farben. Und dabei ist das Garn besonders langlebig, Kleidungsstücke daraus sind sehr formstabil und leiern nicht aus.

Im Februar 2024 änderten wir die Zusammensetzung von Nepal von 60% Baumwolle (kbA), 28% Leinen und 12% Brennnessel zu 60% Baumwolle (kbA) und 40% Leinen.
