Because Galahad is a non-superwash wool, the colors on Galahad will be more subdued that those found on superwash yarns. This sport-weight yarn is nicely rounded with a bit of a bloom, which makes it good for textured patterns as well as projects involving felting. If you want to do a colorwork project (such as stranded or mosaic knitting) and want the distinctions between colors to be less crisp, this yarn would also be a good choice.

Galahad is the epitome of knighthood, a perfect knight who is the only knight to truly achieve the quest of the holy grail (Perceval and Bors were with him, but there’s a strong chance that neither would have succeeded without Galahad).

Galahad’s conception, however, was not so perfect. His father is Lancelot, who slept with Galahad’s mother Elaine because Lancelot thought Elaine was Guenevere (Arthur’s wife whom Lancelot loved). Lancelot was disgusted when he found out he had slept with the wrong woman (she was magically disguised) and refused to marry Elaine.

When Galahad grows up, he travels to Camelot to take his place at the Round Table, a place that has been waiting for him. The Siege (or seat) Perilous had remained empty, awaiting the perfect knight who would achieve the grail. Any knight who had tried to sit in it up to that point had been destroyed. Galahad did not sit in his seat for long, however, as shortly after his arrival, the grail quest began.
