MILDA

The Slavic, or precisely the Lithuanian goddess of beauty and love. An ideal name because this wonderful composition of baby alpaca, silk and cashmere fibers you can just fall in love with. There are no words to describe this angel-like softness. As if spun from clouds. Additionally, the baby alpaca creates a very pleasant halo around it (and pared with cashmere is like a dream!), that it makes one’s knees weak just from touching it. In addition to that, Milda has a slight sheen and so much drape one can get the feeling that it melts in the hands. It is hard to believe that it was made by mortals and not stolen from the gods. The most pleasant and delicate of all the yarns in our little market stall.

Yarn made with alpaca fibers is much lighter and warmer (even 5 times more!) than merino wool. It is more oval, more flowing and more delicate, which makes knits with a lot of cables look not that heavy.

All this makes it ideal for all kinds of knits – it’s squishy and wonderfully holds shape. The silk makes all lace patterns work wonderfully, and cables look more three-dimensional thanks to the additional sheen. The structure of this yarn makes all smaller and bigger braids stand out.
