As of August 2012, Texere have changed Islay’s put-up from 200g cones (1990yds) to 100g cones (886yds).

from Texere website: “Islay is spun from 90% wool with 10% nylon for strength making it an excellent yarn for all types of crafts. It is available in a wide range of bright colours with a gentle hint of natural lustre. Islay is particularly good for weaving in both the warp and weft, and is also ideal for tapestry and tablet weaving. It will make strong braids and cords and can be used for different types of jewellery and knotting. Knit or crochet into very fine wraps, throws and accessories. 2/16wc, 18/2nm or approx 1ply (or laceweight) with 810m per cone, making it similar, but much finer than Jura.”
