100% Texelaar and Zwartbles Lambswool and Baby Alpaca from the Low Lands, gathered and spun with 100% traceability in an eco – mill in Flanders.

DIJK encompasses everything The Dutch Yarn Barn sets out to be: that of eco-friendly and ethical production, that of wanting to put value into something nowadays considered worthless, and of using local heritage yarns.

All the raw fleece that goes into Dijk is gathered from flocks where it would otherwise have gone to waste and we selected and graded the finest parts of Texelaar and Zwartbles lambsfleeces from the Province of Gelderland. The high quality Baby Alpaca is from the Alpaca farm and spinner in Flanders, Belgium

The misty, silvery grey tones found in the Blue Texelaar are enhanced by the natural white of the White Texelaar and Baby Alpaca, while the black Zwartbles adds her dark beauty to the blend to form a natural heathered shade with lots of depth. The blend makes into a yarn with bounce and a little more drape than the original 100% Texelaar Double Dutch.

It is full of character, a structural and authentic farm yarn, yet soft and bouncy to handle and with a little halo. A slightly irregular spin with a delightfully lofty twist will create beautiful stich definition in knits, purls, and cabling alike.

A yarn ultimately suited for sturdy sweaters and squishy soft winter accessories, your go-to autumn and winter yarn with lots of character!
