Oops! Blend No. 1 is a DK weight yarn made from Merino Wool, baby alpaca, silk noil and cotton. The cotton in the blend was not intended to be added, hence the ‘Oops!’

The shade “Trusty Tan” is not dyed and uses only natural colours of the fibres in the blend –ecru Merino, natural brown baby alpaca, white silk noil and white cotton. The white cotton shows throughout the yarn in the same natural white colour as the silk noil. The natural Trusty Tan shade makes a beautifully textured knitted fabric with the white cotton appearing just like the silk and this shade can be crocheted and knit with as is.

For shades that are dyed, the cotton did not take the dye and therefore shows in its natural white colour inconsistently throughout the yarn. To avoid wasting this yarn, we experimented making knitted / crocheted felted fabrics and found that the felting process allows the cotton to embed in the fabric and adds to the beauty of the final felted piece.

The Oops! Blend No. 1 yarn in dyed shades should only be used for felted projects as the undyed cotton will otherwise appear as an imperfection on the surface of the fabric.
