Wensleydale DK

The wool comes from Yorkshire, where it is worsted spun to produce a DK weight yarn. There are wool finds at Coppergate York which have the same crimp, sheen and micron count as this fibre - so it’s my best guess for representing their yarn! Following my environmental policy I use Bio D organic liquid for scouring, alum and cream of tartar as my main mordants and natural dyes that are ethically sourced or carry GOTS certification (in the case of extract dyes)

Sold in 50g or 100g hanks depending on the size of your project that’s a nominal 112 or 225metres in length
