JUBILEE - An Exclusive Commemorative Yarn for 2012.

Jubilee Yarn has been spun exclusively in honour of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II celebrating the 60th anniversary of her accession to the British throne on 6th February 1952.

The Yarn is 75% British Bluefaced Leicester Wool, the most luxurious of the UK sheep breeds, 20% Silk for lustre and strength, and 5% stellina to add the diamond sparkle! We are dyeing Jubilee 10 skeins at a time, so each dyelot will be slightly different.

The yarn will be accompanied by two patterns created for the occasion. A knitted shawl designed by Ann Kingstone, a British designer based in Yorkshire, and a crocheted shawl by Amanda Perkins of The Natural Dye Studio. Both use a single skein of the yarn to create their stunning pieces.

Each skein weighs 150 grams and measures about 600 metres/656 yards in total.
