I have long wanted to create a fine, semi-worsted yarn suitable for fine color-work (like Sanquhar knitting). These Cotswold x Romney fleeces, with their long staple and good crimp, were perfect for this project. To increase its durability and stitch definition the yarn is semi-worsted and three-plied.

At 13 stitches per inch the resulting fabric is dense and perfect for mittens/gloves. I am eying my 11 stitches per inch swatch and planning a vest or sweater. It does have a slight halo, but I suspect that that will quickly wear away.

Like all my dyed yarn, I used only plant based dyes (organic when possible) and a few assists to achieve bright, light fast colors.
