“Helvellyn Sock” is a 75/25 superwash blue faced leicester/nylon 4-ply fingering weight yarn with 464 yards per 100g. It has the sturdiness of nylon and a luster from the BFL. This yarn is dyed by hand using colorfast acid dyes.

“Helvellyn Sock” is named after Helvellyn, a mountain in the English Lake District famous for Striding Edge, the knife-edge ridge leading up to it. But even on the steepest slopes of this mountain, sheep can be found grazing. That image captures this yarn perfectly--rugged yet striking. It would be perfect for socks (one skein should be enough for a pair, but check pattern requirements) but would also make beautiful shawls or other fingering weight projects.
