Made by Christine of Rauwerk, this is a 100% Merino yarn from Bavaria; the fibre is sourced from a single farm in Munich and the yarn is spun in a mill in the nearby Chiemgau region. While the fibres from German Merinos are stronger than those grown in warmer climates, most people find it soft enough to wear next to the skin and its woollen-spun construction makes it very light, airy and warm, perfect for garments, accessories and blankets and anything designed to keep you warm…

Dyed with plants collected around my neighbourhood in Glasgow, food waste and sustainably-produced raw plant material and dye extracts, these soft shades are relatively light-fast but, like all natural dyes, may change and develop over time, a quality valued by many cultures.
